XRLP Acoustics

Noise design and management plans for nightclubs, live music venues and events — written for licensing committees and the Agent of Change principle.

Produced from your construction build-ups, layout and proposed operating hours.

Desk-based assessment. We do not attend site or take measurements. Breakout is calculated from your construction details. Where measured music levels or background sound levels are required, you supply them — or we tell you before you order.

Who this report is for

  • New nightclubs, live music venues, bars with DJs and event spaces applying for a licence
  • Existing venues facing a noise complaint or licence review
  • Venues demonstrating compliance with a noise condition
  • Outdoor events and festivals needing an event noise management plan
  • Developers building next to an existing venue

What the report contains

  1. Summary and conclusion for the licensing committee or planning officer
  2. Venue description, source levels and proposed operating hours
  3. Breakout assessment through facade, roof, doors, lobbies and windows, calculated from construction build-ups
  4. Sound limiter specification — recommended set point per octave band, sensor position, and how it should be commissioned
  5. Structural mitigation: lobby design, secondary glazing, resilient ceiling and wall constructions, door acoustic ratings
  6. Operational mitigation: door management, smoking area controls, dispersal policy, delivery times
  7. Noise management plan ready to attach to a licence application
  8. Agent of Change commentary where relevant
  9. Complaint response procedure
  10. Appendices with calculations and drawings

Standards we write to

Tell us which country the project is in and which authority the report must satisfy, and we assess against the right framework.

Region Assessed against
United Kingdom IOA Good Practice Guide on the Control of Noise from Pubs and Clubs; Code of Practice on Environmental Noise Control at Concerts
EU / international ISO 9613-2, national entertainment noise limits
United States & Canada Local municipal noise ordinance, ANSI/ASA S12.9
Australia & New Zealand State liquor and EPA noise conditions

What we need from you

  • Venue address
  • Floor plans, sections and elevations, with construction build-ups if known
  • Capacity, opening hours and the type of entertainment
  • Distance and direction to the nearest residential windows
  • Any existing complaints, licence conditions or correspondence
  • Details of any existing limiter or sound system

Your turnaround starts when we have all of this — not when you pay.

What this report is not

  • Not attendance at a licensing hearing
  • Not commissioning or physically setting a sound limiter on site — we specify it, a sound engineer sets it
  • Not a structural or fire-safety assessment of any construction we recommend
  • Not a measured survey of your existing music levels — supply measurements if you have them
  • Not a guarantee that a licence will be granted

Price and turnaround

Tier Turnaround Price
Single-room venue 7 working days $1,095

How it works

  1. Choose your report. The price you see is the price you pay.
  2. Tell us about the project. A short brief here, a fuller intake after checkout.
  3. We do the work. Modelling, calculation and drafting, accelerated by our own tooling.
  4. An acoustician reviews and signs it. Every report is manually reviewed and signed by a professional acoustician before it reaches you.

How it works in detail

Questions

We have had a noise complaint. What do we do first?

Send us the complaint or abatement notice with your brief. The report addresses the specific allegation and gives you a management plan you can show the authority.

What is a sound limiter set point?

The level, per frequency band, at which your sound system cuts or limits, chosen so music at the nearest residential window stays within the required limit. We calculate it; a sound engineer sets the device.

Can you help a developer building next to a venue?

Yes. That is an Agent of Change situation and it is covered. If the development is the main subject, the Residential Development report is the better fit.

Do you cover outdoor events?

Yes, in the complex tier — propagation to nearby receptors, an event noise management plan, and monitoring recommendations.
