Every report we issue is manually reviewed and signed by a professional acoustician before it reaches you. This page explains how that works, and what the reviewer is responsible for.
How the review works
Report production — assembling site context, running the calculations, assessing against the relevant standard and drafting the report — is carried out by XRLP Acoustics using our own tooling.
Technical review and sign-off is done manually by a professional acoustician. No report is delivered without that review. It is not automated, and it is not a formality.
What the reviewer is responsible for
- Confirming the assessment methodology is the right one for the project and the authority
- Making the engineering judgements the standards explicitly require, such as acoustic feature corrections and context
- Checking the calculations independently
- Confirming the conclusions actually follow from the evidence
- Signing the report
We do not publish individual names
We describe the qualification, not the person. If that matters for your submission, read the next section before you order.
If your authority requires a named author
Some planning and licensing authorities ask for the author’s name and qualifications to appear on the report itself. Practice varies between authorities and between report types.
If your authority requires this, tell us before you order and we will confirm in writing what we can provide for your specific submission. We would rather answer that question up front than have you discover it at validation.
If you disagree with the technical content
Raise it and it goes straight to the reviewing acoustician, who will respond with reasoning and references to the standard applied. Our Complaints Procedure sets out the timescales.
What we do not claim
- We hold no testing accreditation, and we do not carry out pre-completion sound insulation testing
- We do not carry out site noise surveys or acoustic measurements
- We do not offer expert witness services as standard — ask for a custom quote
