What our reports are
Each report is a professional opinion based on the information you supply and the conditions described at the time of assessment. It is prepared to the standard or guidance named in the report.
What our reports are not
- Not a guarantee of planning permission, a licence, building control approval or a test pass
- Not a substitute for site measurement where an authority requires measured data
- Not a structural, fire, ventilation or building-regulations assessment beyond the acoustic scope stated
- Not valid if the design, plant or site conditions differ from those assessed
Desk-based assessment
We do not attend site and we do not take acoustic measurements. Where an assessment depends on measured background sound levels, we rely on data you provide. If that data is absent, inaccurate or not representative, the conclusions of the report may not hold. We will always tell you when this is a risk.
Accuracy of your information
We rely on the drawings, datasheets and descriptions you give us. A report based on superseded drawings or on plant that differs from what is installed is not valid. Tell us if anything changes.
Reliance
Reports are prepared for the named client and the stated project only. No third party may rely on a report without our written agreement.
Validity
Reports are valid for 12 months from issue, provided the design and site conditions do not change.
Who reviews our work
Every report is manually reviewed and signed by a professional acoustician. No report is issued without that review.
Limitation of liability
Nothing in these terms excludes or limits our liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, for fraud, or for anything else that cannot lawfully be excluded — including your statutory rights as a consumer.
Subject to that, our total liability arising from any report is limited to the fee you paid for that report. We are not liable for indirect or consequential loss, loss of profit, or loss of opportunity.
